Welcome to Miss McDonnell's Grade One Class Website
I hope you find this a useful resource. I aim to bridge the gap between home and school through the use of this website and the weekly memo's sent out by the school. If there is anything that you feel would be beneficial to be added to the website or memo please feel free to contact me. I would love to hear any suggestions or comments that you have and would really like to make this website our own. Thanks so much for entrusting your children to me this year. It has been a wonderful experience so far and I'm sure it will continue to be. God Bless!
Please be sure to check out all of the sections of the site. Here is a detailed list of what you will find in each section.

Welcome Back!
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am delighted to welcome your child into Grade 1! I hope that you enjoyed a fun and relaxing summer together and are now nicely settling into the routines of school again. We have had a great first week in the classroom and look forward to sharing many more with you!
I realize that teaching your child is a tremendous responsibility and I will do my best to ensure that each student has a safe and motivating learning experience in this upcoming year. However, I cannot do this without the help of you, the parents. We are partners in the learning process. With your help we have a classroom of scholars, athletes, musicians and/or actors. We will have a group of students that are confident in their abilities to achieve.
I have created this website in essence to help bridge the gap between home and school. I will use this website as a way to keep you informed and to simply help you know me a little better. Please note that this website will be continually updated so check back regularly to see what is new. Also please feel free to send me a reminder at any time if you feel the website is missing information or has not been updated in a while.
I eagerly await getting to know each of your children, not only as students in my class but as individuals. I believe that by doing so I will be able to create learning experiences that will fit both the learning style and interests of your child, creating an excitement about school, and ultimately ensuring that they are reaching their maximum learning potential.
Grade 1 is a big year in school. I look forward to being a part of your child's experience, and have made it my personal goal to have this year be one of personal, intellectual and spiritual growth for each individual student. I am looking forward to hearing from you and also to begin the year with your child. Please contact me at any time with questions or concerns. Although email is the best way to get ahold of me, please feel free to phone, send a note with your child, or make an appointment to see me as well.
Please also be sure to check out the "About Miss McDonnell" page of this site, to learn a little bit more about me, as well as to read up on my philosophy of education, statement of faith, and classroom management plan.
